HOW THEY DID IT - Game Recaps BCSP No. 1 Delaware State 25, Morgan State 17 CB Akeem Green's 100-yard fumble return helped Delaware State (6-1, 5-0 MEAC) snatch victory from the jaws of defeat vs. Morgan State (3-2, 4-4). DSU trailed 17-16 when MSU RB Courtney Anderson's fumble just short of the goal line was picked up by Green and returned for a deciding score. DSU placekicker Peter Gaertner had four field goals (42, 45, 34, 43) and RB Kareem Jones rushed for 122 yards. WR Shaheer McBride had a TD reception but the Hornets were held to 67 yards passing. No. 2 Grambling State 30, No. 7 Jackson State 20 BCSP No. 2 Grambling State (6-1, 6-0 SWAC W) held Jackson State to 25 rushing yards, got three Tim Manuel field goals (22, 25, 32) and scored a defensive touchdown late in the game to down the Tigers (4-1, 4-3) in a battle of SWAC division leaders. GSU QB Brandon Landers (22-41-2) threw for 348 yards including a 49-yard second-quarter scoring toss to WR Clyde Edwards. No. 3 Tuskegee 40, No. 10 Albany State 28 Tuskegee (7-0, 6-0) held Albany State's league-leading rushing attack to 71 yards in 35 carries while rushing for 302 yards and five TDs of its own in downing the Golden Rams (6-2, 4-1). TU RB Richard Fitzhugh ran 21 times for 129 yards and two TDs (8, 9). PK Matt Simms added two field goals (31, 37). ASU QB Kisan Flakes threw for 311 yards (17-28-2) and 3 TDs (57, 63, 32) and had a 14-yard scoring run. No. 4 Norfolk State 33, Florida A&M 27 Norfolk State RB Darryl Jones racked up 256 rushing yards on 38 carries and scored on a nine-yard third quarter run as the Spartans (6-1, 5-0) got a hard-fought road win in Tallahassee to keep pace with DelState atop the MEAC standings. Trailing 20-17, Jones' TD run followed the first of two second half interceptions by DB Don Carey and put the Spartans up for good. Carey's final interception ended the Rattlers final possession. No. 5 Alabama A&M 31, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 14 The defense of Alabama A&M (6-1, 4-1) posted nine sacks, forced four turnovers and had a safety in downingUAPB (1-6, 1-4). Bulldog RB Anthony Green had scoring runs of 1 and 10 yards. No. 8 South Carolina State 26, No. 6 Hampton 24 SC State (4-3, 3-1) QB Cleveland McCoy ran for 154 yards (19 carries) and scored on fourth quarter runs of 19 and 31 yards to lead the Bulldogs to victory for the second year in a row over Hampton (4-3, 3-3). Will Ford added 122 rushing yards on 23 carries as SCSU had 290 rushing yards.
