  • Morehouse Men and Albany State Women claim SIAC Commissioner's All Sports Award
    The men of Morehouse College and the women of Albany State University captured the SIAC All-Sports Award for the 2007-08 season. This award is Albany State Women’s fifth consecutive SIAC Commissioner’s All-Sports Award and Morehouse’s second in the last five years.


  • 2008 CIAA Commissioner's All-Academic Team Announced
    Twenty-two student-athletes from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association have been named to the 2008 CIAA Commissioner’s All-Academic Team.

  • Prairie View’s Richard, Jackson State’s Williams head 2008 SWAC Baseball All-Conference team
    The 2008 Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball All-Conference team votes have been tallied and Prairie View A&M’s Myrio Richard was named Player of the Year while Jackson State’s Charles Williams was named Pitcher of the Year. Joel Del Grande of Alcorn State took both Newcomer of the Year and Outstanding Hitter of the Year honors and Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Matt Pace was selected as Freshman of the Year


  • MVSU and Del State headed to Div I Softball Playoffs
    The University of Florida was named the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship today when the NCAA Division I Softball Committee announced the 64-team field. The Gators, champions of the Southeastern Conference, are 62-2 and will play Georgia Tech, an at-large selection from the Atlantic Coast Conference, May 16, in front of a home crowd in Gainesville.

  • Stillman and West Virginia State get Div II Baseball Championship bids
    The NCAA Division II Baseball Committee has selected the 48 teams that will participate in the 2008 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.


  • Jackson perseveres to become an Aggie
    There is a popular chant uttered by North Carolina A&T athletes and fans. The lyrics go like this: “O, O, O, it’s soooo hard to be an Aggie, soooo hard to be an Aggie, it’s sooo hard to be an A&T…Aggie.”

    Bethune-Cookman University captured both the Division I men's and women's titles Sunday at the 22nd PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
