Regional play begins Sunday, May 1 when the seventh-seeded Winston-Salem State women (27-1) meet Indiana U. of Pennsylvania (19-6) in Atlantic Region action at noon in Slippery Rock, PA.  The Lady Rams earned an automatic bid after winning the CIAA Championship last weekend in Petersburg, VA.  IUP was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) runner-up and No. 2 seed in the region.

West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) runner-up West Virginia State (19-8) will meet host and No. 3 seed Slippery Rock (14-6) at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.  SRU is one of four PSAC teams to get berths in the regionals.

SIAC Champ Clark-Atlanta (20-8) will travel to Miami Shores, FL to face top-seed and host Barry University (20-1) in the South Regional at a time to be determined Sunday.  The Lady Panthers enter the tournament as the No. 8 seed.  They went 16-8 in the regular season including winning eight out of nine in the month of March.  Barry won its second straight Sunshine State Conference Championship to earn an automatic bid and will be making its 18th straight appearance in the tournament.

Morehouse (11-10) starts its championship quest Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. when they face Florida Southern (15-9) in Valdosta, GA.  The Maroon Tigers captured their third consecutive SIAC title to earn an automatic bid to the South Region field.  Host, top-seeded and No. 1 in the nation Valdosta State (15-1) will meet the winner, Monday afternoon.

Raleigh, NC will be hosting three HBCU men's teams in Atlantic Region action with top-seeded Shaw (24-1) meeting the winner of the match between Bluefield State (15-9) and Winston-Salem State (17-12).  Times and locations have not been determined.

BSU, a member of the WVIAC, is seeded fourth in the region while WSSU, who earned an at-large berth, is seeded No. 5.  The two teams met earlier in the season with the Blues taking a 5-2 win at home against the Rams.
