ATLANTA--The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced the 2012 SIAC Tennis All-Conference team as voted by the SIAC Tennis Coaches Association. The men’s team is led by SIAC Men’s Player of the Year Zibusiso Ndimande of Benedict College. Leading the women’s team is SIAC Women’s Player of the Year Elizabeth Perez of Stillman College.
 
NdimandeZibusiso, a native of Mulawalo, Zimbabwe, finished the regular season with a 23-3 overall record and a perfect 10-0 in the SIAC in singles matches while playing in the number one position for the Tigers. The 5-foot-7 freshman also teamed with Shane Latchman in doubles action to finish with a 9-6 record, 7-1 in the SIAC, which earned the duo an All-SIAC first team selection. Latchman also joined Zibusiso as an All-SIAC first team selection in singles along with Terrance Jenkins and Dwayne White of Fort Valley State University as well as David Torres and Santiago Robles of Stillman College. Jenkins teamed with Brandon Pringle while White teamed with James Hernandez to form the other first team selections in doubles.
 
Perez, a native of San Juan Del Rio, Mexico, finished the regular season with a 22-7 overall record and an 11-1 record against conference opponents while playing in the number one position. The freshman also teamed with Rosana Medeiros to earn second team honors in doubles with a 14-6 overall record.  Joining Perez on the first team in singles are Glory Zhou and Chloe Jean-Charles of Benedict College, Keva Palmer of Clark Atlanta University, Chade’ Scott and Yonelle Aromin of Fort Valley State University. Zhou and Jessica Carswell of Benedict College, Jean-Charles and India Cowell of Benedict College along with Roberta Robinson and Gabriella Louis of Fort Valley State University make up the first team selections in doubles.Perez
 
In addition to their other accolades, Zibusiso and Perez both received SIAC Freshman of the Year honors for the 2012 season.
 
Fort Valley State University Head Coach Willie Foster was named SIAC Men’s and Women’s Coach of the Year after leading both teams to a regular season title and a #1 seed in the conference championship in 2012. Foster helped lead the Wildcats to a 12-0 record against conference opponents while leading the Lady Wildcats to a 12-1 record in the SIAC.Foster
 
Stillman College junior Felipe Farias leads the SIAC Men’s Tennis All-Academic team with a 4.00 grade point average. Farias and the Tigers also earned the SIAC Men’s Tennis All-Academic Team Award with a 3.87 cumulative GPA.
 
The SIAC Women’s All-Academic Team features four student-athletes with a 4.00 grade point average in Benedict College sophomore Glory Zhou, Lane College senior Naeemah Webb, Tuskegee University senior Tremaine Creighton and sophomore Christian Patterson with Tuskegee University also earning the SIAC Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team Award with a 3.85 cumulative GPA.
