MyFoxHouston.com has reported that Mike Davis, who led Indiana to the Final Four in 2002 and was named Conference USA Coach of the Year at Alabama-Birmingham after the 2010-2011 season, has agreed to become the interim head basketball coach at Texas Southern University.
The TSU job vacancy was created when Tony Harvey resigned for personal reasons last month.
"It's a great opportunity for me to get back into coaching," Davis said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "I've researched Texas Southern's program. "I think Harvey left some real good players there. They had a good program and it's one of the better jobs in the (SWAC) conference, and I'm excited to get back working and teaching."
