NEW ORLEANS – The Bayou Classic has unveiled a new website in anticipation of this year's series of events which start Thursday, November 22, 2012. In addition to the full listing of events for this year's events, the new website provides fans the ability to connect with their favorite team on personalized pages that put the school's brands front and center.

The new website, accessed at www.mybayouclassic.com, was created to provide an interactive experience for fans of Grambling State University and Southern University.

The website introduces new sections that provide fans with exclusive game information and an opportunity to participate in The Bayou Classic directly.

The new website is another step by the Bayou Classic team and the two schools to make the event more fan and family friendly. The new website is in addition to the recent announcement that tickets for the Bayou Classic were reduced this year to make the game more affordable for those with families.

“Fan and family friendly – that is the goal in everything we have done and continue to do for the Bayou Classic,” said Dottie Belletto, President of New Orleans Convention Company, Inc., the management firm of The 39th Annual Bayou Classic. “The new website is one more way we are making this happen for Southern, Grambling and all Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the US.”

Last year, the two schools split $1.32 million in proceeds from the series of Bayou Classic events. These proceeds provide support to the campuses' athletic programs and fund scholarships through the SU System Foundation and the GSU Foundation.

NOTE: While State Farm® remains a committed sponsor of The Bayou Classic, they are no longer the title sponsor of the week-long series of events. Therefore, the official name of the program is now The Bayou Classic® as noted in the new information and logo presented for 2012.
