The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) will host its annual football media luncheon on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Occasions Event Center starting at 12:30 pm EST.

This eventwill feature SIAC head football coaches providing insight on their respective teams for the upcoming 2012 football season.

The 2012 SIAC football season kicks off Saturday, September 1^st with seven SIAC teams opening up against non-conference opponents, including Albany State hosting 2011 playoff foe North Greenville, Fort Valley State taking on defending Gulf South champion Delta State, and Morehouse versus Howard in the Nation’s Football Classic. Other matchups on Saturday include Benedict traveling to Virginia Union, Clark Atlanta hosting West Alabama, Lane hosting Edward Waters and Tuskegee taking on Alabama A&M in Birmingham.

The opening week also features two other non-conference matchups on Sunday, September 2^nd as defending SIAC champion Miles host North Alabama in the 6^th annual Labor Day Golden Classic and Stillman takes on Central State in Wilberforce.
