After just over two months on the job, Alcorn State University Director of Athletics Patric Simon has submitted his resignation from the SWAC program for personal reasons.Simon

Alcorn State hired Simon from Langston University in Oklahoma, where he had previously served as Director of Athletics for four years at the NAIA school.  He began working at Alcorn State on April 1, 2012.

Simon said that he was appreciative of the opportunity that was given to him, but that he needed to move on and take care of important business in other aspects of his life.

"I will always be grateful to Alcorn State University, President Brown, the student-athletes that make Alcorn a great institution and the alumni/boosters from across Mississippi and the United States," Simon said. "While I will not be able to lead Alcorn's athletic programs any longer, I wish Alcorn State well in all of their future endeavors."
