
Daytona Beach, FL - Bethune-Cookman College has named Sandra L. Booker as head women's basketball coach, replacing Rosina Pearson who resigned April 9 for personal reasons.

"Sandra Booker is a proven winner with a track record of developing the entire student-athlete, academically and athletically," said B-CC Athletic Director Lynn Thompson in announcing Booker's selection. "We are proud to have her as part of the B-CC family."
While at PBCC, Booker advanced her teams to the state junior college tournament five out of seven seasons, compiling a record of 137-55. She was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year four times. Besides being conference champions for five years, PBCC was state runner-up in 1992 and 1994. The team finished third in the state in 1996 and fourth in 1997.
Prior to her tenure at Palm Beach CC, Booker served as an assistant coach at the University of Buffalo (1990-91) and the University of Central Florida (1991). She has also worked as an assistant coach at Rensselaer Polytechic Institute in Troy, NY.
A native of Cinnaminson, NJ, Booker earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from Stockton State College, Pomona, NJ, in 1989.
