Bethune-Cookman College has named Horace Broadnax as head men's basketball coach. He replaces Tony Sheals, who left to become an assistant coach at Towson State.Broadnax is a former assistant coach at BCC. He worked under Sheals during the 1993-94 season. A Florida native, Broadnax coached at Valencia Community College for the past two seasons compiling a 29-32 record.
"Horace Broadnax is well qualified to take us to the next level in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference," Bethune Cookman athletic director Lynn Thompson said. "His tremendous work ethic, combined with his knowledge of our program, will allow him to hit the ground running towards the MEAC championship."
Broadnax was apparently the second choice of BCC. Top pick Sidney Green recently accepted the head coaching position at the University of North Florida.
