CIAA basketball tournament fans can still get tickets fo the 1997 Men's and Women's Tournament. The 52nd Annual Tournament will be held February 24 - March 1, 1997 at the Lawrence Joel Veteran's Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Tickets for the annual event can be purchased by contacting the CIAA Office at 804.865.0071 or the LJVM Coliseum at 910.725.5635. Ticket booklets are $85.00 and cover all games of the women's and men's tournament.
The CIAA basketball tournament includes women's and men's teams from thirteen historically black colleges and universities, including Bowie State University, Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Livingstone College, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University, Saint Augustine's College, Saint Paul's College, Virginia State University, Virginia Union University and Winston-Salem State University.
Twenty thousand people attend the event annually. Teams meet in a single elimination format leading up to the championship games on Saturday, March 1, 1997.
