Hampton, VA....Hampton University head women's basketball coach Patricia Bibbs announced that Joy Roberson of Hancock Central High in Sparta, Georgia has signed a letter of intent to attend HU this fall.The 5'10 forward averaged 16.3 points, 13.4 rebounds and six blocks per game and led her team to the Georgia State AA semifinal and a 22-3 record.
Roberson's high school honors include, All Regional and All - State selections, 1995-96 State Offensive Player of the Year, and the 1996-97 State Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year. She has also been selected to play in the Georgia High School All - StarGame in July.
Roberson chose Hampton over Florida, Florida State, Florida A&M, Auburn and North Carolina.
