Jacqie McWilliams Joins CIAA Staff

Jacqueline McWilliams has joined the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association staff as Compliance Coordinator. She comes to the conference office from Virginia Union University where she held a variety of positions including Compliance Officer, Senior Women's Administrator, Head Women's Volleyball Coach and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach.

She will be responsible for all CIAA student-athlete eligibility requirements and assuring that all CIAA institutions comply with conference and NCAA regulations.

A former student-athlete and member of the national champion Hampton University Lady Pirate basketball team, McWilliams earned a masters degree from Temple University following graduation from Hampton. She joined the staff at Virginia Union in 1993.

"I feel this is a great opportunity and I am excited about the challenges and experiences the job will bring," McWilliams said.

Commissioner Leon Kerry stated, "Jacqie is a valuable asset to the organization. We've watch her grow as a player, student, coach and an athletic administrator. I feel this is the next step in her career."

McWilliams replaces Patrick Carter who left the CIAA to become Compliance Officer for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
