Winston-Salem State University has relieved men's basketball coach Sam Hanger of all coaching reponsibilities at the school. Hanger, who had served as head coach since 1995, compiles a record of 36 wins and 45 losses in three seasons.
WSSU assistant men's coach John Hill has been named interim head coach effective immediately. Hill, a native of Kinston, NC, had served as recruiting coordinator for the men's team for the past three years. He previously coached at Greensboro College, Bloomfield College, NJ and Kean College, NJ.
