"This is an exciting partnership for Alabama State University," Interim Athletic Director Melvin Hines said. "Heritage Sports Radio Network has been a leader in its coverage of collegiate athletics events, and we look forward to expanding the Hornet brand on "The Voice of HBCU Sports."

Founded in 2006, HSRN is headquartered in Hartly, DE. Among its broadcast credits are the 89th Turkey Day Classic in the inaugural football game at the New ASU Stadium, the State Farm Magic City Classic, the Toyota SWAC Football and Basketball Championship, the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Final Four, and the CIAA Basketball Tournament. HSRN.com averages more than one million unique visitors per month.

HSRN will simulcast three of Alabama State's remaining football games, all road contests: Oct. 11 at Prairie View A&M, Nov. 1 at Southern, and Nov. 15 at Grambling.

"HSRN is excited about the partnership with Alabama State," HSRN General Manager Lamont Germany said. "ASU's athletic tradition and passionate fan and alumni base is second to none. HSRN's mission to broaden multimedia exposure of HBCU athletics is enhanced exponentially with an affiliation with Alabama State and Hornet Nation."
