NCCU and KSU begin softball playoff bids

INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division II Softball Committee has
selected the 64 teams that will participate in the 2006 NCAA
Division II Softball Regional Championships. Eight teams will
participate at each of eight regional sites in double-elimination
tournaments to determine the final eight championship participants.
Regional competition will be held May 11-15. Winners will advance
to the finals to be held May 18-22, at the James I. Moyer Softball
Complex in Salem, Virginia.
CIAA Champ and #8 seed North Carolina Central will meet #1
seed Lock Haven in the Mid-Atlantic Regional at in Shippensburg,
PA. The Lady Eagles are scheduled to take the field Thursday
afternoon at 4:30pm.
A few hours later in the South Regional in Lakeland, Fl,
SIAC Champ Kentucky State will meet host Florida Southern at
7:00pm. The Thorobrettes are seeded #8 in the tournament.
