NCCU Lady Eagles hitless in first game shut out at Softball Regionals

KUTZTOWN, PA - Bloomsburg's Ashley Lynn (21-5) pitched a five-inning perfect game to lead the Huskies to a 12-0 win over North Carolina Central in game three of the NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Softball Regional Thursday afternoon.
Lynn's perfect game was the second straight of the tournament after LHU's Kristin Erb matched Lynn's effort against Bowie State. It is Lynn's third no-hitter this season and the third perfect game in Bloomsburg's NCAA championship play history.
Lynn also led the Huskies at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three RBI. Tara Reed was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Tiff Corliss scored twice and Casey Massimini drove in a pair for BU (36-13), which advances to Friday's game vs. the winner of the Kutztown/Edinboro game at 4:30 PM.
Stacey Greene (17-8) took the loss for the Lady Eagles (31-12). She pitched 3.1 innings and allowed 10 runs. NCCU falls to the loser's bracket, where it will face the loser of the Kutztown/Edinboro game on Friday at 11:30 AM.
