Davis' resignation is effective May 15, 2007 and Hargrove will retire after the 2008 season.

"We appreciate the role Coach Davis has played in promoting the College’s athletic mission and the positive influence he has had on the athletes who played during his tenure,” said Athletic Director George Williams.

Davis was named the Lady Falcons head coach in 2002. Previously, he served as the Women’s Head Basketball Coach at Kentucky State University, where he led the team to two consecutive 20-win seasons and its first NCAA tournament appearance.

“Hargrove has demonstrated the value of a Saint Augustine’s College degree to the student-athletes who have played under his tenure, and he demonstrates what can happen when you stay focused and committed to a career goal,” Williams said.

An alumnus of the College (class of 1965), Hargrove has compiled over 400 wins during his 17 years of high school coaching and his nine seasons at Saint Augustine’s College. During his tenure at Saint Augustine’s College, the Falcons boasted two All-CIAA Players of the Year, seven All-CIAA Players, and two Division II All-Americans. The Falcons finished the 2007 season with a 19-9 record, a semifinal finish in the 2007 CIAA Basketball Tournament and were ranked regionally throughout the season. The Falcons compiled a winning overall record for the fourth time in five seasons under Hargrove.

The Falcons won a CIAA divisional title under Hargrove in 2004 and were co-divisional champions in 2003 and 2006.
