Mansfield named Assistant SID at Howard

WASHINGTON D.C. – Chevonne Mansfield has been named Assistant Sports Information Director at Howard University.

Mansfield will assist in the media relations efforts of the athletic department’s 19 sports. She comes to Howard after a three-year stint at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
“We are excited about Chevonne coming to Howard University,” said Howard Sports Information Director Edward Hill. “She brings a wealth of experience to the program. I am really looking forward to working with her.”
While at Maryland-Eastern Shore, Mansfield served as the primary contact for women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, track/field and softball, as well as assisting in the daily operation of the department’s official athletics website.
She has worked in many different areas of professional sports over the past few years, working for organizations such as the New York Knicks (NBA), New York Jets, (NFL) and New York Yankees (MLB).
A native of Long Island, N.Y., Mansfield is a 2004 graduate of St. John’s University (N.Y.), where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications. She received a Master’s Degree from Maryland-Eastern Shore in 2007.
Mansfield succeeds Romanda Noble, who left to take a similar position at South Carolina State.
