Former Texas Southern basketball star Randy Bolden has signed a one year contract to play in Iceland. Randy was a two time SWAC Conference Player of the Year and played this past season in Brazil where he averaged 13 points and 5 assists per game.
Former Tennessee State athletics director Vivian Fuller has filed suit against the school,alleging she was fired for trying to improve the women's sports programs.More from the Nashville Tennessean

Norfolk State has found another volleyball coach after negotiations with Kathy Roulhac "came to an impass". Robert Hale has been selected to fill the position. NSU has also clarified that in the future the athletic mascot for their women's teams will be the Spartans, not Lady Spartans, just Spartans. In the past the women's teams were called the Spartanettes.
Central State has announced that men's basketball coach Michael Grant will also coach the men's and women's golf team.

Two MEAC schools have hired new volleyball coaches. Norfolk State has selected Kathy Roulac to lead the Spartanettes this fall. Bethune-Cookman has picked Paula Thompson to lead the Lady Wildcat spikers.Thompson is not related to BCC AD Lynn Thompson.
