Hartly, DE – After starting the season 1-2, The Rams of Winston-Salem State University won eight straight games including a third-straight CIAA Championship; made a return to the NCAA Playoffs and claimed the top spot in the Final HSRN Division II/NAIA Football Poll. After taking over the top position at the end of the regular season, WSSU held on to edge Tuskegee University for the mythical title.hsrn2014 voice

Despite returning to the playoffs for the fourth straight year, Tuskegee sputtered at the end of the season, finishing 3-3 in its final six games to finish second in the poll.

Virginia State University, who gave Tuskegee one of those three losses, finished third in the final poll.

Bowie State University and Chowan University rounded out the top five.

Miles College came in sixth, followed by Virginia Union University and Albany State University.

SIAC Champ Fort Valley State University and NAIA combatant Langston University finished tied for ninth place.
