HUNTSVILLE — Alabama A&M's football program has released its 2019 schedule.

This season, Alabama A&M is playing a 12-game slate, which includes classics in Canton, Ohio, Huntsville and Mobile, along with the annual Magic City Classic — which is the most-attended game in the Football Championship Subdivision.

"We're excited about the upcoming season's football schedule," Alabama A&M Director of Athletics Bryan Hicks said. "We believe it's a good schedule that has several events that will be great experiences for our student-athletes and fans."

Alabama A&M opens the season on Sept. 1, during the Labor Day weekend, in Canton, Ohio, where the Bulldogs will play old SIAC foe Morehouse in the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic, which will be played at the NFL Hall of Fame.

"Getting an opportunity to make the trip to Canton, Ohio and play in the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic will be a great experience for our student-athletes," Hicks said. "With the game being played at the NFL Hall of Fame, this is going to be a first-class event and a memorable experience for our student-athletes."

After returning from Canton, Alabama A&M hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the annual Louis Crews Classic before hitting the road for a pair of in-state games at North Alabama Samford.

For the second-straight year, Alabama A&M is playing in the Gulf Coast Challenge in Mobile, with the Bulldogs playing Central State this season in the event. The game is scheduled for Sept. 29.

On Oct. 5, Alabama A&M hosts Texas Southern for homecoming, and then on Oct. 26, the Bulldogs travel to Birmingham for the Magic City Classic with longtime rival Alabama State.

Alabama A&M has activities planned for its final two home games of the season. When the Bulldogs host Jackson State on Nov. 9, the 2019 AAMU Athletics Hall of Fame class of inductees will be recognized. The regular season finale, against Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 23, will be High School Day at Louis Crews Stadium.
