INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee has released its final NCAA Division II men’s tennis rankings of the 2013-14 academic year. The top teams in each region are listed below and will be advancing to the preliminary rounds of the 2014 men's tennis championship.
Three HBCUs have received bids to this year's NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championships.
Forty-eight teams earned bids to this year's tournament (15 automatic qualifiers and 33 at-large bids). Bluefield State and West Virginia Wesleyan will each serve as Atlantic Region site hosts, with the winners from each location advancing to the NCAA Finals May 14th-17th in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
CIAA Champ Shaw, runner up Chowan and top-seeded Bluefield State from the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) will begin play Saturday in Bluefield, WV.
The Bears, Hawks and Blues are playing in the same bracket. Shaw will meet Chowan in the opening round with the winner facing host Bluefield State.
The regional winner will advance to the NCAA Finals May 14th-17th in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
