Baseball Champions from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) have received automatic bids to the 2013 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship and both will open play on Friday, May 31. The Championship begins with a regional format which consists of 16, four-team sites, each playing under a double-elimination format.NCAA Baseball

MEAC Champ Savannah State will travel to Tallahassee, FL to meet #7 national seed Florida State at 5:00pm ET. Also selected to the Tallahassee Regional were Alabama and Troy.

SWAC titelist Jackson State will face No. 4 national seed LSU in the Baton Rouge Regional at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field at 2:00pm CT. Opposite JSU and LSU in the Baton Rouge Regional are Sam Houston State and Louisiana-Lafayette.

SSU finished the regular season with a 29-21 record and entered the conference tournament as the top seed in the southern division with a 17-7 mark. During the tournament, the Tigers defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore, Norfolk State, Coppin State and Bethune-Cookman.

JSU (34-20), the winner of 15 SWAC baseball crowns, will make its fourth trip to the postseason regional and its third in Baton Rouge. JSU captured the SWAC East Division regular season championship and will make its first postseason appearance since 2000 - losing to LSU before being eliminated by New Orleans.
