ATLANTA --The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced the addition of three new staff members.
Joining the conference office staff are Taunita Stephenson (Assistant Commissioner of Championships). Kelly McBryan (Assistant Commissioner of Compliance), and Britney Reddick (Assistant Commissioner of New Media & Communications).
"All three of these talented women bring valuable experience, professionalism, and a wide range of skill sets that will certainly inure to the ultimate benefit of SIAC student-athletes and member institutions," said SIAC commissioner Gregory Moore. "I am pleased to welcome them to the SIAC."
StevensonStephenson comes to the SIAC from Delaware State University in Dover, Del., where she was the assistant director of fitness and wellness for two years. At DSU, she assisted in the administration of policies and strategic planning, provided leadership and direction for special events and facility maintenance, and assisted in recruitment, hiring, and training efforts for the department's professional staff, graduate assistant staff, and student employees. She was involved in all processes related to departmental and external special events including scheduling and assisting clients ranging from student organizations to local, regional, and national constituents. Stephenson also updated facility and event safety plans and managed the publicity and marketing for events.
Stephenson hails from Upper Marlboro, Md. and graduated from DSU in 2009 with a degree in sport management. Stephenson also earned a dual degree (MBA & master's of sports business management) in 2012 from the University of Central Florida.
McBryan
McBryan spent the last two years as a compliance specialist at Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Del. At GBC, McBryan completed rule interpretation, monitored initial eligibility for incoming student-athletes, planned monthly compliance meetings, and served as the Title IX investigator. She also organized Life Skill programming for student-athletes, served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor, and completed NCAA reports that included academic tracking and graduation success rates.
Originally from Grove City, Pa., McBryan graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a degree in physical education. In 2014 she earned a master's degree in sport management from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
Reddick
Reddick was previously the assistant director of media relations at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C. For two years, she was the primary media contact for women's basketball, volleyball, softball, women's tennis, and bowling, which won the school's first national championship last season. Reddick also assisted with men's basketball and aided in game-day operations for football and special events. Reddick helped to oversee social media campaigns, design publications, update the website, and a host of other duties.
A Raleigh, N.C. native, Reddick received her bachelor's degree in public relations in 2010 from N.C. A&T. She graduated with a master's degree in electronic media in 2012 from Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pa.
Johnson named Coppin State Director of Compliance
BALTIMORE – Marian Johnson has been named Coppin State University’s Director of Compliance.
Johnson comes to Coppin State from Grand Canyon University where she served as the Director of Compliance. She’ll have oversight of the NCAA Compliance program at Coppin State.

Among her duties with Coppin State’s 14-sport NCAA Division I program include providing interpretation of NCAA rules to staff and the university community, educating staff and student-athletes on NCAA and conference rules, coordinating the annual student-athlete orientation, reviewing and monitoring athletic scholarships, being the liaison between Department of Athletics and financial Aid/registrar/admissions offices, NCAA Eligibility (initial and continuing), investigating and reporting violations of NCAA rules and regulations.
Prior to working at Grand Canyon, Johnson served as Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance for the intercollegiate athletics program at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
She was Director of Compliance at Howard University from 2008-2012 and Assistant Academic Coordinator for Student-Athletes at Morgan State University from 2007-2008
A 1999 graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Johnson earned a master’s degree from Seton Hall University in 2006. While at Seton Hall, Johnson was the assistant track and field/cross country coach and program director for four years.
McMillan named Coppin State men’s basketball assistant coach
BALTIMORE – Coppin State head men’s basketball coach Michael Grant has named Jay McMillan as an assistant coach.

A native of Columbia, McMillan was considered one of the most respected high school head coaches in the state of Maryland at Glenelg High School. He joins the Coppin State staff after a successful seven-year stint in which he helped the program become a title contender.
McMillan also has experience coaching on the AAU level with Team Melo, BMore’s Finest and Maryland 3D.
McMillan is popular along the Washington-Baltimore corridor as he has served as a staff member, supervisor and/or coach at numerous clinics including the John Wall Basketball Camp, Kevin Durant Skills Academy, Carmelo Anthony Basketball Camp, Five-Star Elite Basketball, Hoop Group Elite/Future All-American, Nike Skills U and Reebok Headliner camps.
McMillan has also coached allied softball for two years where he dealt with equal opportunity for students with disabilities.
McMillan earned his bachelors of arts degree in sociology and criminal justice from Morehouse College.
