Custom Search MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Kendra Greene has been named Alabama State University’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations.

Ms. Greene brings to ASU 13 years of intercollegiate athletics and higher education student services experience.
Ms. Greene arrived at Delaware State University in February 2014, to assume the role of Associate Athletics Director for Compliance where she was responsible for implementing a comprehensive compliance program within the Delaware State University community.
As the leader of the day-to-day operations of the Office of Compliance, she monitored the institution's adherence to NCAA legislation includes the area of recruiting, initial and continuing eligibility, athletic grant-in-aid, awards and inducements, and Title IX.
“We’re looking at putting together a new five-year plan,” said Alabama State Director of Athletics Melvin Hines.
“Ms. Greene is going to help us maintain what we’ve been doing internally. When you look at what she has done such as the grant writing to get the additional funding for Delaware State athletics from an academic standpoint, that’s what stood out. We want to create an academic center and make sure that our student-athletes are not only successful in the classroom, but in life.
“She’s been in the business a long time. This business is about being able to adjust and adapt in certain situations. Same thing that we teach our student-athletes. You got to be able to adjust and adapt. They’re going to be some on our end and theirs. Great teams come together when you bring different ideas from different places. I think that’s what we’ve done with people coming in from different regions. Their wealth of knowledge is going to carry us a long way.”
Ms. Greene also served as a Deputy Title IX Officer and a member of the Equity Resolution Panel for the DSU campus.
Previous to arriving at Delaware State, Ms. Greene served as Associate AD for Academics/Senior Woman Administrator at the University of the District of Columbia.
In this role, she monitored all aspects of student services for the student-athlete community from the recruitment and orientation to the university, the administering of academic support services, and the monitoring of student retention and matriculation to graduation.
She also served as the Advisor to SAAC as well as the other community engagement projects within the East Coast Conference.
Before transitioning back to the field of athletics, Ms. Greene spent two years in the UDC Office of Retention and Academic Advising, under the Office of the Provost and VP of Academic Affairs, focusing on building an advising office committed to serving all students at UDC their first two years of college as well as transfer students initial enrollment at the university.
She also was responsible for special student populations of Veterans and Armed Service members, student-athletes, and Gear Up DC students.
In addition, Ms. Greene has spent three years at the University of Maryland as Program Coordinator for Student-Athlete Academic Support and Career Development Unit and two years at the University of Oklahoma both as a Graduate Assistant and Special Events Coordinator for the Lloyd Noble Center, the basketball and events arena.
Ms. Greene earned her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration.
She is a native of Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Sociology and a focus in Pre-Law, in addition while she resided in the District of Columbia, she completed a post graduate certificate program from George Washington University in Brain Injury Education and Transitional Services.
She is currently pursuing her PhD in Sports Leadership and Administration from Concordia University of Chicago.
