Miles College head softball coach Patrick Peasant has been named to the NCAA Division II Softball Committee, effective Sept. 1, 2017. The appointment, one of eight nationally, is for four years.Peasant
Peasant will serve as the chairperson for the South Region in all meetings and weekly phone calls, serve on the national committee where his most important responsibility will be to help select the 64 teams that will be invited to the NCAA Championships. He will also represent the NCAA in the South Region and National Tournaments.
Peasant just completed his 14th season as head coach for the Golden Bears softball team and has more than 200 victories. He has won two Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles (2009, 2012) and has earned two second-place finishes in 2016 and 2017. Peasant has also served on the Division II South Region softball committee and has directed several tournaments during that time. In addition to his softball duties, Peasant serves as Assistant Athletic Director, Operations at Miles.
