JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Edward Waters College will formally introduce Greg Ruffin as the 14th full-time head football coach in program history on Thursday, December 14. A press conference is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Center.bcu greg ruffinRuffin

Ruffin comes to Edward Waters from Bethune-Cookman University of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, where he spent this past season (2017) as tight ends coach.

Prior to his time at BCU, he spent one season as head coach at Texas College in 2016.

Ruffin has experience in building programs. He served as head coach at Paine College during the school's football resurgance in 2013, after the program had been dormant for more than 50 years.

In 2002, he helped revive the football program at Shaw University after a 23-year hiatus, guiding the Bears to a 7-3 record in his lone season in Raleigh, N. C.

Ruffin also has coaching experience at Texas Southern University, Jackson State University, Ouachita Baptist University, Lincoln University, and Lane College.
