LANGSTON – Langston University Director of Athletics Donnita Rogers is proud to announce the appointment of Christian Lowe as the new head coach for the school's volleyball program.
"Coach (Christian) Lowe is going to be a magnificent hire for our staff, I love her vision, she's so prepared and excited for this job," Rogers noted. "Her enthusiasm is infectious, we're going to be looking at a change in structure, a change in passion and a change in culture. I truly believe next year when we hit the court, you're going to see a lot of new changes and a different team."Lowe
"I'm very excited and anxious to get started. What I know from the places I've been, the things I've done, I'm ready to teach those things to my team. It doesn't matter what level they're at, I'm ready to give them all the knowledge that I have," head volleyball coach Christian Lowe said. "I want to be able to instill integrity and pride in our young women and for them to be hardworking, proud of themselves and to never give up. I want my team to be proud of Langston University and to be proud of themselves and their program."
Prior to her arrival at Langston University, Lowe coached at Lebanon High School, Riverdale High School and Tennessee State University. She also served as the head coach for the Alliance Volleyball Club, the top volleyball club in the state of Tennessee. During her coaching career, Lowe has developed an All-County MVP, two district MVPs, five All-County nominees, seven first team All-District selections, five second team All-District selections and three All-Regional selections.
Lowe played collegiately at Tennessee State, receiving numerous Ohio Valley Conference player of the week honors and was a member of the 2007 Ohio Valley Conference Championship team. Following her collegiate career, she played professionally overseas with Turnverein Dingolfing in Germany.
