FORT VALLEY, Ga. – Just three years after winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship, 33-30 in two overtimes over Kentucky State, Fort Valley State is parting ways with head football coach Kevin Porter. The Wildcats have announced the immediate start of a national search for Porter's replacementfvsu helmet.

During his four years as head coach, Porter's teams finished 19-22 overall. The program won two Eastern Division Championships, won the 2016 SIAC Football Championship and hosted another SIAC championship game on FVSU's campus in 2017.

This year's team finished 6-4 overall but lost its third straight Fountain City Classic game to Albany State.

During the transition period the program will be headed by Director of Football Operations Joel Hirsch.
