TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida A&M University's new Vice President and Director of Athletics, Kortne Gosha, announced has announced the appointment of University of Miami's Associate Director for Business Operations and Purchasing, Karai Lockley, as the next Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business and Finance of FAMU Athletics.Lockley
Lockley will also serve as the department's Senior Woman Administrator.
"We are extremely thrilled to welcome Karai into our Rattler family, as her dynamic experience in the private sector, mid-major, and power 5 levels of athletics will certainly be key in our strategic mission to take our athletics department to the next level," Gosha said. "Karai's work ethic, character, and professionalism is a true reflection of the high standards of fiscal integrity, accountability, and transparency that our administration will employ."

A native of Rahway, N.J., Lockley is no stranger to the colors orange and green, as she comes to Florida A&M after five years with Miami Athletics. During her tenure with the Hurricanes, Lockley's initial responsibilities were to create, analyze and monitor budgets for football, women's basketball, academics, compliance, and the creative services team (marketing and communications). Ultimately, she was selected to serve on the department's strategic planning committee and was eventually promoted to her most recent role as the Associate Director of Business Operations and Purchasing.
An HBCU alum, Lockley is a graduate of Hampton University, where she earned a B.A. in Business Management in 2000. She then earned her Master's in Sports Administration from Georgia State University in 2015. Lockley also has memberships in Women Leaders in College Sports, Minority Opportunities Athletic Association, College Athletic Business Management Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
