Fayetteville, NC – Fayetteville State University Department of Athletics has announced a change in leadership of its women's basketball program, as Serena King-Coleman will not return as the Broncos' head coach.
"After an evaluation of our women's basketball program, we have decided to make a change," said Director of Athletics Todd Bennett. "I want to thank Coach King-Coleman for the remarkable contributions she has made here at Fayetteville State University. We wish her the best in her future endeavors."
King-Coleman finished her sixth season at the helm of the women's basketball program in the quarterfinals round of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Basketball Tournament. In 2019-20, King-Coleman led the Broncos to a CIAA Championship. She has a coaching record of 97-63 after six seasons at FSU and has a career record of 249-271 over 19 seasons.
Assistant Coach Tyreece Brown, who has been with the program since 2011, will serve as interim head coach.
