Saturday's final day of competition began with Round 4 of the double-elimination championship. I-95 rivals, No. 4 Virginia State and No. 3 Virginia Union fought through six games with VSU taking the match, 4-2.

With the elimination of Virginia Union, Virginia State returned to the elimination bracket to face top seeded Fayetteville State. The Broncos took an early 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven matchup. VSU captured the fourth game 174-164 before falling to FSU, 159-128 in the fifth game, giving the Broncos a 4-1 win.

Waiting in the winner's bracket, Bowie State took on Fayetteville State in the championship game. A BSU win would give the Bulldogs the title while FSU would need to defeat Bowie State twice to take the championship.

After BSU started out strong with a 196-116 victory in the first game, FSU responded with big wins in the next three games (161-152, 187-171 and 157-146). Game five was a blowout with the Bulldogs winning 172-121. Both the sixth and seventh games came down to the tenth frame and both times the Bulldogs finished strong to take home the Championship. This 2018 Championship Title is the Bulldogs’ 4th consecutive and 8th in school history.

With the title, BSU earns an automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Bowling Championship.
