A five-game home schedule, including an Oct. 9th homecoming matchup with Allen University, highlights the Clark Atlanta University Panthers 2021 football schedule.
Along with their usual Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule, the Panthers will play teams from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and Gulf South Conference.
"We start out our first three weeks with non-conference and non-division opponents," said CAU head coach Tim Bowens. "We will have five home contests in the fall, which I think our fan base will appreciate."
The Panthers kick off the season on Sept. 4 when they visit CIAA foe Livingstone College. The next two weeks find CAU hosting Lane College and then another non-conference opponent in Shorter University. CAU hasn't played Shorter since defeating the Hawks 27-23 on the road in 2016.
CAU goes back on the road the following two weeks, visiting Albany State and Tuskegee.
The Panthers return home on Oct. 9th when they host Allen in a homecoming game in which CAU will try to avenge a 16-10 upset loss to the Yellowjackets last season. The next two weeks find the Panthers back on the road to face Savannah State and then Fort Valley State.
The final two weeks of the season will be in the friendly confines of CAU Panther Stadium when CAU hosts Benedict on Oct. 30 and then Atlanta University Center rival Morehouse in the regular season finale on Nov. 6.
The Panthers are on campus this spring preparing for the fall schedule.
"We are glad to have our student-athletes back this spring," Bowens said. "We hope to cover some ground in these coming months. We look forward to seeing how much we've grown as a program."
