INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Shaw University Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator Kimberly Miller has been appointed as a member of the NCAA Division II Strategic Alliance Matching Grant Selection Committee effectively immediately and will continue through August 21, 2019.
The Division II Strategic Alliance Matching Grant provides funding for the creation of new, or the enhancement of, current full-time, senior-level administrative positions at NCAA Division II schools and conference office to encourage access, recruitment, selection and long-term success of ethnic minorities and women.
Miller is in her eighth year at Shaw, where she oversees internal operations, event planning and management, gameday operations, contract negotiations, budgetary management, in addition to sports oversight. In addition, Miller serves as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Prior to coming to Shaw, Miller held a variety of positions with collegiate athletic departments, conference offices and a professional basketball franchise.
She worked in an administrative capacity with the athletic department at American University and in the sports information/media relations offices in the athletic departments at Ohio University and Bethune-Cookman University.
Miller also worked with the Charlotte Bobcats in an administrative capacity, and worked with championships in her time with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
A native of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Miller received her Bachelor of Science degree in sport management with a concentration in management and administration from Winston-Salem State University in 2001. She received her Master's of Science in sports studies from High Point University in 2006 and is currently a candidate for a doctor of philosophy in sport management at Northcentral University.
