ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced a corporate partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation that will make Toyota the official automotive sponsor of the SIAC.
As the SIAC’s official auto partner, Toyota will be afforded activation opportunities in connection with both live conference championship events and SIAC digital and social media platforms.
“The SIAC has done a great job of creating a unique value proposition for us with respect to their ability to leverage robust digital and social media platforms to engage a large and extremely passionate SIAC fan base,” said Jim Colon, vice president of African-American Business Strategy, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “We are very proud to be the official automotive partner of the SIAC.”
Toyota’s commitment to diversity was recently acknowledged earlier this year when DiversityInc named Toyota one of its Top 50 Companies for diversity, marking the company’s ninth appearance on the list since 2006. Toyota, the only automaker in the Top 50 placed at number 36 of over 1,600 companies.
“The partnership with Toyota is a testament to the tremendous fan and alumni support which has helped the SIAC lead the NCAA Division II in football attendance 23 out of 25 years,” SIAC commissioner Gregory Moore said. “We look forward to working with Toyota and are very appreciative of their support of the SIAC in particular and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in general.”
