Chesapeake, VA - The Lady Bulldogs of Bowie State University successfully defended their title in the 2016 CIAA Bowling Championships.  BSU held off Fayetteville State in the championship round to take their second consecutive conference title.

The third and final day of competition featured a double elimination best four out of seven baker games format.

The Lady Broncos perservered through the elimination bracket, knocking off Chowan and then Virginia State, for the opportunity to take on the Lady Bulldogs.  BSU was undefeated in double-elimination tournament play going into the championship match.  

FSU handed BSU their first loss, 4-1, in round one.

BSU took the first two matches in the second round before dropping the third game by a single pin, 181-180.  The ladies from Bowie, Md. then took the final two games to give FSU its second loss and claim the title.

Fayetteville State finishes second with Virginia State third and Chowan in fourth place.
