Charlotte, NC - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's (CIAA) Senior Associate Commissioner for Championships and Events, Marcus Clarke, has been reappointed to the NCAA Division II Committee for Legislative Relief (CLR).
"The NCAA makes every effort to provide the membership with methods in which to fairly appeal decisions impacting eligibility and participation, and I am honored to have the privilege to continue serving in this capacity," comments Marcus Clarke.
The Division II CLR serves as the final decision-making body for any waiver requests in situations where no other committee, subcommittee or conference has the authority to act. It establishes policies and procedures, upon approval by the Division II Management Council, for hearing wavier requests in situations where no other committee, subcommittee or conference has the authority to act.
Members of the Division II Committee for Legislative Relief are elected for one three-year term. Individuals, such as Clarke, may be immediately reelected to a second three-year term.
Clarke joined the CIAA office in the Fall of 2015 and manages the conference's 15 championships in addition to having management responsibilities with the basketball tournament and associated ancillary events. Clarke also serves as the primary liaison for scheduling, NCAA D-II grants and the medical athletics trainers association.
