New Orleans – Thirty-one student-athletes from HBCUs were named 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Americans by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)..
Fourteen men and 17 women were named indoor All-Americans. Lincoln (Mo) had the largest representation with 6 men and 13 women . Saint Augustine's placed nine student-athletes on the list.
Under normal circumstances, All-America honors would be awarded based on performances at the NCAA Championships. Due to the cancellation of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Executive Committee adopted different criteria.
Student-athletes on the start list of their respective events and relay teams accepted into their events at the DII Indoor Championships were recognized as Indoor All-Americans. All-America honors are usually based on individual and relay performances at the national championship meet.
There will not be a distinction of “first-team” or “second-team” to these recognitions.
A total of 716 honors were handed out to 117 different institutions.
