WILBERFORCE, Ohio –Central State University Director of Athletics Tara A. Owens has been appointed to the NCAA Women's Basketball Rules Committee.
Owens will begin serving a four-year term on the committee beginning September 1, 2020. The NCAA Women's Basketball Rules Committee is a group of 13 members that includes the nonvoting secretary rules-editor, head coaches, directors of athletics, and faculty athletic representatives spanning across all three divisions in the NCAA.
As a member, Owens will participate in annual meetings and conference calls while working closely with the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) Playing Rules and Officiating Group Committee to review, assess, modify, clarify and maintain rules of the game.
Owens was named CSU's Director of Athletics in the fall of 2018 and has over 24 years of experience working in collegiate athletics. She holds memberships in the National Association of Female Executives, Women's Basketball Coaches Association and the Black Coaches Association.
