WTXL.com is reporting that Florida A&M is planing to cut staff along with two unspecified men's athletic programs, to save $800,000 in operating expenses.
The cuts are part of FAMU's plan to reduce a projected $2.4 million budget deficit in its athletics department. The cuts are expected to take effect for the 2020-2021 season.
Specific sports have not been announced. Speculation is that FAMU Athletics Director John Eason will decide what sports to cut between now and Thanksgiving.
