Charlotte, NC – Livingstone College fired a 625 (+49) to win the 2015 CIAA Golf Championships over Chowan University (635, +59) and Elizabeth City State University (650, +74) on Friday, April 17th at the par 72, 6,717-yard Larkhaven Golf Course. William White of Elizabeth City State won the individual medalist honor after a sudden death tiebreaker with a score of 150 +6 (82, 68).new ciaa logo

Fayetteville State University and Johnson C. Smith University tied for fourth place (666, +90), Virginia Union University (766, +190) finished sixth, while Virginia State University (846, +270) and Saint Augustine's University (1024, +448) rounded out the team scoring in seventh and eighth place, respectively.

The Livingstone Blue Bears had three golfers finish in the top 10. Elizabeth City State and Fayetteville State also had three golfers finish in the top 10 of the leaderboard. Jordan Francis (156, +12) and Billy Britton (156, +12) of Chowan also concluded the event in the top 10.

Brandon Jobe of Fayetteville State received the 2015 CIAA Golfer of the Year Award with a three event total of 447 and an average of 74.5 per round. Jobe and White initially ended competition tied for the medalist honors. White victorious earned the individual medalist honor in a sudden death playoff. White finished hole one in five strokes, compared to six strokes for Jobe.

The  Blue Bears held a six stroke lead after the first day. This is the seventh CIAA Golf Championship claimed by Livingstone and the first since 1989. Virginia State had been the conference champion the past two seasons.
