GAINESVILLE, Florida. – Florida A&M (23-25) watched its’ season come to and end with an 8-1 loss to #21 Florida Atlantic (41-18) in the NCAA Gainesville Regional at McKethan Stadium on Saturday. The Rattlers cut the lead to 2-1 in the fifth inning on Brian Davis’ leadoff home run to right, but was unable to break through with several opportunities in the final four innings. FAU had the leadoff batter reach in each of the final six innings as the Owls added five runs in the top of the ninth inning to put the game out of reach.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas Southern University baseball team concluded its 2015 season with a 4-1 loss to Coastal Carolina University (38-20) in the second round of the NCAA tournament Saturday afternoon. TSU (31-18) now holds a 1-6 all-time tournament record.
The Tigers were led by shortstop Robert Garza. He tied with a game-high two hits and knocked in the Tigers lone run. Felix Gomez received the loss after going 3.1. Larry Romero went a team-high 3.2 innings in the game, striking out a team-best three batters and giving up no runs and only one hit.
