"Stan Holt has had a tremendous run here at Langston University with the men's basketball program these past five seasons," said Drain-Rogers. "He's done a remarkable job of molding the men's basketball program into a national power and we certainly wish him well in his future endeavors."

Holt posted an 107-50 record in five seasons with four consecutive 20-win seasons, three national tournament appearances including an NAIA quarterfinals appearance in 2016-17, multiple NAIA All-American honors and a 2015-16 RRAC Tournament Championship.

Prior to Holt's hire, the Lions all-time record at the National Championship Tournament stood at 0-3. Since Holt's took the reins, the Lions are 3-3 in the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Tournament; that mark includes the first National Tournament win in program history during the 2016-17 season when they defeated No. 3 seed Biola (Calif.) University 78-76.Most recently in 2018-19, two Lions collected SAC All-Conference honors and Jorori Coleman was named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American for his efforts.

"I want to thank Langston University for what has been a truly remarkable place for the last five years," Holt said. "We achieved great success together and we could not have done it without the support of our administration, coaching staff, players, staff, students, alumni, fans and the entire university community. We shared some great moments together, and I will always be grateful for that."
