HAMPTON, Va. -- The Big South Conference has released the 2020-21 Women's Basketball modified conference schedule which will feature back to back games in order to limit reoccurring travel. Instead of home and away games teams will play back to back against the same team either at their home venue or at the other team's venue.ham wbb action

The Hampton Lady Pirates will start conference play with back to back games against Charleston Southern on Dec. 21-22. After a short break for the Christmas holiday, they will travel on the road to face Gardner-Webb Dec. 30-31.

The women will start the new year by playing Radford at home Jan. 4-5 and then back on the road to play UNC Asheville Jan. 9-10. Followed by back to back home series facing USC Upstate Jan. 15-16 and Winthrop Jan. 22-23. They wrap up the month to face High Point on the road Jan. 29-30.

The Lady Pirates will start the final month of the regular season at home to face off against Longwood on February 5-6 before closing the regular season with two road series against Presbyterian on Feb. 12-13 and Campbell Feb. 26-27.

In case of games being postponed due to COVID-19, the week of March 2 is set aside for makeup games.

The 2021 Hercules Tires Big South Women's Basketball Championship will be a home-site/earned seed format. The current schedule features first round games at the No. 6, 7 and 8 seeds on Tuesday, March 9. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at the No. 1 seed on Thursday-Friday, March 11-12, while the highest remaining seed will host the championship game on Sunday, March 14.

Non-conference games and all game times will be announced at a later date. All conference games will be streamed on ESPN+ as there will be no fans at home games this season.
