Virginia Union (15-1) moved up to No. 2 in the region thanks to wins over St. Augustine's (104-57) and Virginia State (65-56) . The Lady Panthers' win over Virginia State (15-1) Saturday,knocked the Trojans from the unbeated ranks but VSU held steady at No. 6 in the rankings with a win over previously ranked Johnson C. Smith (74-67).
Chowan (13-3) held on to its No. 9 ranking after a 2-0 week with wins over Livingstone (74-62) and Elizabeth City State (68-47).
Bowie State (12-4) dropped to No. 10 following wins against Fayetteville State (71-52) and Livingstone (74-62) and a loss to Lincoln (Pa) (70-64 Saturday.
Previously ranked Johnson C. Smith (10-6) went winless for the week with road losses at Virginia State and Fayetteville State. As a result, the Golden Bulls dropped out of this week's rankings.
