ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lincoln (Mo) University football team will play Kentucky State University in the inaugural Ol' Man River Classic at the Dome at America's Center in St. Louis on Saturday, November 23.
The interconference showdown between a pair of HBCU programs will renew a rivalry dating back to 1932. It will be the 49th contest between Lincoln and Kentucky State, and the first since 1987.
"Even before the decision was made for us to return to the MIAA next season, we had been working to add a game against Kentucky State," said John Moseley, Lincoln University Director of Athletics. "Lincoln is proud of its legacy as a historically Black university, and we made it a priority before the 2019 schedule was set to honor that legacy for our alumni, fans and our department by playing Kentucky State at the end of the season.
"The Ol' Man River Classic is an opportunity to renew one of our oldest rivalries, and the Blue Tigers are thrilled to be playing this game right here in Missouri in November. I can't wait to see our fans take over St. Louis for what's sure to be a fantastic event."
